409 FITUMAR performs against melanose when being applied on crustaceous. It avoids the process of the enzymes (melanose) of the shellfish (blackening of the head and limbs because of pH alteration), and so the crustaceous and shellfish keep its texture, colour, brightness and natural flavour.

The preservation of frozen shellfish or crustaceous has no definite limits,

Whereas fresh shellfish or crustaceous can be kept for 15 days if temperature ranges between 0 and 5 ºC.


At a moderate temperature; white powder, odour free, flavour free.   


From 1% to 3% based on the product to be treated (from 1 to 3 Kg. per every 100 Kg. of shellfish or crustaceous) depending on application method of the product.


·      BY IMMERSION: Dissolve 1 Kg of 409 FITUMAR per every 100 litres of water.

·      These 100 litres allow the treatment of 150 Kg of shellfish or crustaceous.

·      The immersion time is a minimum of 3’ and a maximum of 10 minutes.

·      BY SPRINKLING: Apply it directly onto the pieces.

·      Just take care all pieces are well covered under the product before packing the shellfish or crustaceous.
